Mehmet Güren is a self-taught composer, sound artist based in Berlin. He composes and produces music/sound design for visual media and also creates visuals for his own sound projects. Mehmet Güren holds a Master degree in Architectural Design at Istanbul Technical University with a thesis focusing on the relationship between physical space and musical performance.

 

He's interested in exploring data-driven textures, creating rhythmic mutations and balancing seemingly incompatible influences through combining modular synthesis techniques with the samples - field recordings. He aims to create a multi-dimensional transition space between the concrete and abstract thinking through sound as well as the visual which is organically branching out from the sound-work itself.
